Help Low-Income Kids Beat the Heat with Comfort and Dignity
Help Outfit Low-Income Kids in Arlington for a Cool, Confident Summer
As summer approaches and temperatures rise, many families are discovering that last year’s shorts and swimsuits no longer fit their growing kids. Buying a new wardrobe for simply isn’t possible for many low-income families as they look at a long summer ahead.
We anticipate providing over 1,200 wardrobes to local kids in need this season. Each child will receive summer essentials like shorts and tees, summer pjs, swimsuits, and shoes—helping them to stay cool and comfortable as the days heat up. We want all kids to feel good whether they are participating in school activities, running through the sprinkler, or spending time with friends outside.
You can help make this happen with a donation to The Clothesline. Just $50 would give two siblings a week's worth of shorts, tees, and sneakers to play outside and stay comfy in the heat. Our goal is to raise $40,000 by the end of July. And thanks to a generous $20,000 matching challenge from the Bergstrom Foundation and other donors, your gifts will go twice as far, helping even more children stay cool this summer.
Want to make an impact all year long? Consider becoming a monthly donor. Your ongoing support ensures that kids stay warm in winter, cool in summer, and comfortable year-round.
We'd also love to see you in our store as a volunteer. The tasks are easy to learn in a fun environment, and just a few rewarding hours of your time helps support our mission. Learn more and sign up here.
